About the maker
Forty years
at the bench.
I built my first violin in 1984. Since then, my work has been devoted to the making, restoration and voicing of fine stringed instruments.
I trained at the Violin Making School in Leksand, Sweden, and went on to apprentice with master luthiers in New York and Prague. Those years shaped a working method grounded in the classical Cremonese tradition.
Today I work from a small atelier in Norway, taking on a limited number of commissions and projects each year. Every instrument is built, finished and set up by the same hands, from first cut to final adjustment.
Instruments built to sound, feel and age well — for the players who will spend a lifetime with them.

One pair of hands
Every step, from the first plane shaving to final setup, takes place at the same bench. No outsourcing, no production line.

Traditional methods
Hand-graduated plates, hot hide glue and oil varnishes ground from natural resins, in the classical Cremonese manner.

Voiced to the player
Each instrument is set up around the musician who will play it — soundpost, bridge and strings matched to their hand, bow and repertoire.

Built to last
Reversible techniques and traditional materials, so a violin made today can be played and maintained for generations.
Service, repair
and adjustment.
The workshop accepts a limited number of repair, restoration and setup projects each month. Every instrument — modern or antique — is treated with the same care given to new commissions.
All repair work is conservation-minded and reversible, using traditional materials and techniques. Setup and adjustments are carried out in close consultation with the player.
